Starting Date & Details

Hey folks ~

I was wondering if anybody'd mind if we bumped the "official" start date to Sunday? We're up to I think 15 people or so who have expressed an interest, but they're not all hooked up and ready to go yet. Had I realized this would be such a hit, I would have planned ahead better (and if you believe that ...). So what if we take this weekend to do our introductions and round up all the stragglers, and start in earnest with Sunday as Day 1.

Also, the Progress Tracker uses a slightly different breakdown than the Reading Plan. Do people care if we're on the same one and/or do we need to decide, or do we just say that a half-chapter here or there isn't gonna matter much in the long run? I also had someone ask if it was OK if he didn't use the NIV ... I know I'm going to use the NRSV (with occasional dips into the NAB), so I'm not gonna have issues with that!

Any other organizational details I'm missing? Anyone else that wants to join? Come on, all the cool kids are doing it .....

well Steph, I've already started mine because Epihphany seemed the RIGHT day for ME to start - but I'm all for the delayed start because I'm bound to need a few days extra grace here and there. (as are we all)

I'm following the tracking plan - but it seems that with either plan you start and finish each book of the Bible on the same day, so that's cool! In other words let's be flexible about this.

I'm using NIV because it's what I have. (I'd love a copy of NRSV someday though :))

I also promised myself (and ukok) that IF we finish I'll try to take the apocrypha with her at the end before Easter. I've never read those books in full - only snippets - and I think it would be interesting. I think it was you Steph who planted that idea too!

Trouble is I don't have it in any Bible (and find reading online really hard) so have to see if I can borrow a copy.

love to you for starting this, for the lovely site - I didn't expect that and it's WONDERFUL to know we can pop over here and share what's hard and PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER

Oh I would LOVE to postpone till Sunday...I'm running late already, before I even start, and this would mean that I wasn't out of step with the others. I'm going to assume that is what we're doing...and I think I might cheat and use The Message for alot of the narrative material, as we use NRSV for the Daily Office, so I'll be reading things "properly" albeit more slowly as the year goes on.
Oh, and Steph, my email is curate@stmarysck.org.uk...forgot it doesn't show on my site.a

Hey, Lorna,

I am pretty sure I have an extra Apocrypha! Let me have a look and I'll send it on, if I do.

No pressure, of course! ;) But I do have a lot of wonderful Christian books, including some duplications, largely due to the legacy of a dear aunt who has gone on before.

Mary Beth ANY duplicates of BOOK you have I would GLADLY (with joy, happily, excitedly) receive (though be warned postage is high!) .. our seminary in Tallinn is in dire need too - so what I would do is pass what I could from you onto them.

But an apocrypha would be GREAT to start with IF you have one. Much appreciate your offer!

and Kathryn is on board too. This is going to be SUCH fun!

After more than 24 hours I still haven't had my login details for the 90 day website, so I think one of you is going to have to advise me of where to read up to instead!

Thanks in advance

God Bless.

I would love to join. I've already managed through Genesis 16 yesterday as it happens because I was playing catch up in my daily bible, so this would work out great. Can you sign me up?
