Gathered Unto his People
I love this expression, as in: "Aaron will be gathered to his people." Madeleine L'Engle uses it in Many Waters, a wonderful novel about the Noah story.I love to be think that one day I, too, will be gathered to my people. I imagine it as joining the "great cloud of witnesses" who will be waiting for me. My grandparents (all four). My DH's parents (I never met his dad). My aunt and uncle. My college friend Bryan.

It made me think of people with their arms open in welcome. :-)
I think of all the people who have been a part of my spiritual formation during my life, with whom I've lost touch...I often think about meeting them again and finding out how their lives turned out, and vice versa.
